Dr Swarup Swaraj Pal  

He has undergone his formal training from the prestigious KEM hospital ,Parel  and was adept at performing Adult and Paediatric cardiac surgery during this period. He would also attend to the myriad Cardio-vascular emergencies at Wadia hospital and Tata memorial hospital whenever called upon to do so!  He had a keen interest in lung surgeries and actively pursued VATS. 

His quest for recent advances and use of modern technology took him to Apollo hospital(main) , Chennai. Here ,he further sharpened his skills by training under the legendary Cardiac surgeon Padmashree Dr M R Girinath and Dr S Vijayashankar. As a DNB teacher and Consultant there ,he was an integral part of the heart failure programme which included Transplants, ECMOs, and VADs. They also had a successful MICS and Robotic Cardiac surgery programme. He has trained in Aortic aneurysm repairs and TEVAR s during this period. 

He is skilled at performing total arterial bypass surgeries on a beating heart, complex coronaries, valve repairs/ replacements, aortic dissection surgeries, resection of myxomas in the heart and intra cardiac repairs of holes in the heart. He does Minimally invasive 'keyhole' surgeries of the heart and lungs on a regular basis. He also does lung resection surgeries , lung biopsies , surgeries for collapsed lungs and air leak and for Tuberculosis and Lung hydatids. 

He specialises in Vascular surgeries like removing blockages from the carotid arteries supplying blood to the brain , reconstructing the limb arteries in patients with limb gangrene & in Diabetic vasculopathy , creating hemodialysis access such as AV fistulas in dialysis dependant patients, vessel reconstruction in Cancer(onco) surgeries and bypasses of the arteries supplying the gut . He does repairs of abdominal aneurysms and peripheral aneurysm takedowns. 

He has an active interest in emergency Trauma  procedures for  stab injuries, bullet injuries, rib resections, lung lacerations, cardiac injuries , vessel transections and traumatic rupture of the diaphragm ( the partition seperating the chest from the abdomen) ,common in road accidents these days. 

As a key member of international medical tourism, he and his team have operated on several international patients from the middle East, SAARC countries, USA and Russia.
