Dr Swapnil Sharma

Dr. Swapnil Sharma is a Consultant & Chief of Liver Transplant, Hepatobiliary, Pancreas & GI Surgery with over 15 years of experience.

After completing his training, Dr. Swapnil has worked at various hospitals like Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai, Global Hospital, Mumbai, Apollo Hospital, Navi Mumbai, Fortis Hospital, Mumbai & Dr. LH Hiranandani Hospital, Powai as a Liver Transplant & HPB Surgeon, before setting up the Liver Transplant Unit at Wockhardt Hospital, Mumbai Central. He performs all types of liver transplants, including living donor and deceased donor liver transplants, as well as adult and paediatric liver transplants. He performs ABO-incompatible liver transplants as well.

Dr. Swapnil has been involved in the youngest liver transplant in Western India (a four-month-old patient with biliary atresia), a liver transplant in a situs inversus patient and a liver transplant in an Abernethy malformation patient.

Besides liver transplantation, he performs complex gastrointestinal surgeries like multi-visceral resection, portal hypertension surgery (shunt surgery), hepatobiliary & pancreatic surgery, liver resections and complex stomach and intestinal surgery.

His areas of interest are liver transplant, hepatobiliary, pancreatic surgery and complex gastrointestinal surgery.

He has done many studies in the Liver Transplant as well as GI Surgery fields and presented at various international and national conferences.
